It all started with a boy who was enamored with the sights, sounds and even smells of his childhood carnival. Looking back he vividly remembers the poster game he and his cousins would save up their allowance to play and the wind through his hair as he rode a zipper for the first time. 

Even as a preteen he was focused on the behind the scenes aspects of the show; watching how the trucks brought the rides in, and the people set them up, how they were wired and the nest of cords that were needed to power and light everything. He was always astonished how an amusement company could go into an empty field or parking lot and with in a couple of days bring it to life and create an entire world of excitement and then just as quickly take it all down and do it again somewhere else the following week. 

Because of all of this interest and his desire for knowledge he asked countless questions and before he was even out of high school managed to get himself a job for an actual carnival. This was his dream and he took full advantage of the opportunity. He learned as much as he could and became an asset to the show while building contacts and connections. One thing leading to another, as it does, Dean found himself traveling the country with not one but two different major circus’ over the next three years obtaining a variety of skill sets that would contribute to his knowledge base and assist in his development of a plan. 

Then covid came and the industry was interrupted.  Dean took this opportunity to work in other arenas and save up to be able to work toward what he realized was his actual dream, and that was to own his own show. After saving , help from his mentors and some key pieces falling into place Manuel Amusements, LLC was born.

At this point he doesn’t have a zipper yet, but the company does have eight rides that can serve children up to adults. And several games one of which is the very trailer that he used to play that poster game in that he converted into a balloon dart. Dean will never forget all that he saw and experienced as a child and younger adult and he is using that knowledge and those experiences to build a show that takes all of his most memorable and favorite aspect and melds them together to build his ideal experience for his patrons.

Dean Manuel and Manuel Amusements, LLC has built a foundation in Western Massachusetts and beyond by doing a variety of events but always ensuring that they are serving the community at each event to the best of our ability. Some of the areas that the company has been able to shine in this respect is in cultural festivals, anniversary fairs and events as well as school fundraisers and mixers.
